Sean has been my personal trainer for 7 years. I have been fairly active for most of my life but lack the motivation to workout on my own. I am 76 years old and Sean has designed a fitness program that continually challenges me as well as encourages me to go beyond. He makes the workouts fun and interesting. I can honestly say that I am stronger and in much better condition physically than when I started the program. I recently had major shoulder surgery and Sean was able to adjust my program accordingly and, along with my physiotherapist (OT), assisted with building up the strength in my shoulder. After I was discharged from my OT, Sean continued to work on the strengthening and flexibility of my shoulder. Not only is Sean an experienced and qualified trainer, he also provides me with healthy lifestyle suggestions. I can see myself staying with Sean forever, as staying strong and healthy is a way of life for me. I would highly recommend Sean for any age.
It’s been a pleasure training at Boom Box Fitness for the past two years. Sean (owner and personal trainer) is highly knowledgeable and insightful. His workouts are expertly tailored to my fitness goals and each session always pushes me. Sean always makes sure to correct my form with continuous explanations on technique to achieve results and also for injury prevention. Prior to training with him, I had pain from a few pre-existing injuries. Sean worked with me to understand the reason for my pain and he taught me how to stretch, roll and massage correctly. Currently I am pain free and thanks to Sean, I’m in my fifth decade of life and still participating in endurance events. I highly recommend Boom Box Fitness and I am excited to continue training with Sean at Boom Box’s new location in Richmond!
In 2012 I was severely injured in a motor vehicle accident that caused me to lose more than 50% of my mobility. The ensuing months were wracked with pain, severe muscle loss, and excessive weight gain. It took close to five years to regain my mobility and learn to walk properly again – many physiotherapy sessions, orthopedic assessments, and rectification procedures. It took a further 2 years to lose the crazy weight gain. Finally, when I was at the point to rebuild all that, I had lost, I started looking for a trainer that would be supportive, knowledgeable and experienced in building a workout program to help me rebuild the muscle I had lost. I wanted a trainer who could help me restore my legs, arms, core, and butt. I found Sean! He has been amazing! Working with me every step of the way. In six months of diligent weight training and exercise (three times a week sessions), we have achieved the first stage of my two goals - rebuilding my muscle loss. We’re now moving into the next phase, toning the muscle to improve form, fitness, and shape. Already I receive constant compliments on the significant improvements to the shape and tone of my body! It takes courage, dedication, determination, and sometimes sheer will and grit! Having Sean by my side guiding me every step of the way, encouraging me to work harder and extend myself when I feel “I can’t do it” and pushing me to exceed my assumed limits has been the best! Sean rocks! Whatever your goal is, you can rock it with Sean too!
Sean has been my trainer for over 4 years. When I first started working with him, he spent time teaching me about nutrition and consistently followed up to ensure I was staying on track. He turns my bad days around, is motivating, energetic and makes every session so much fun. He's now not only a trainer, but has become a great friend to me too.
Working with Sean was the best choice I could have made to kickstart my fitness journey. He understood my goals, concerns and created a personalized fitness plan that I really enjoyed. I quickly saw a dramatic increase in my overall strength, energy and happiness. I thank Sean for pushing me, even when I'm being difficult and always striving to make my experience better. I have been going to Boom Box Fitness since early March 2021 and have signed on for another program. My program was set up to suit my needs and strengths. I always feel challenged and my body is getting stronger everyday. Michelle is great to work with and always makes sure you are doing everything correct so you do not injure yourself. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good workout that is set up for you personally.
